The world's largest one-dollar Canadian coin (commonly called a "loonie") is on the only road in the tiny town of Echo Bay. It was created by local artist Robert Ralph Carmichael to honor the coin's 25th anniversary. Erected in 2012, the loonie is 15 feet high and made of some sort of metal. It is in the town's roadside park, which also has an environmental center, public bathrooms, and a well-kept boardwalk/interpretive trail. It nicely compliments the world's largest Canadian nickel, which is down the highway in Sudbury.
