One Sphinx wasn't enough for this masonic shrine. Four of them guard the two entrances to the parking lot, and they're painted gold.

- India Shrine Center. Northwest side of the city. From Route 66 turn south at the stoplight (McDonald's) onto N. Portland Ave. Drive one block. Turn left (no stoplight) onto NW 37th St. Drive one block. You'll see the Sphinxes on the right.

Four sphinxes flank the two entrances to the India Shrine Temple parking lot. They aren't relics from Ancient Egypt, but modern additions, commissioned by Shrine Potentate Clarence L. Todd Coker in 1999. A vigorous man, he "died suddenly" on New Year's Day 2001.
