A small, yellowish rock pylon marks the map-makers line between the dry West and the wet East. On the old Lincoln Highway, so this monument has been around for a while.

The 100W line of meridian is the demarcation between the arid West and the watered East. John Wesley Powell first observed the gradual change and placed the nominal boundary here.
