Geese In Flight: Enchanted Highway

Amazing sculpture you can see from highway, worth the exit to go see close up. We had to make Lewistown, MT, so had to keep rolling, but the Enchanted Highway seems like a treasure. Even if you don't have time to do the drive, consider a donation to a local non-profit to thank the town and the artist for their vision.

Enchanted Highway - Geese in Flight

On a recent trip in Western North Dakota, we took the "Enchanted Highway" on our return trip. The "Geese in Flight" sculpture is now (July 2002) up at the Gladstone exit of I-94 and visible for some distance. To my mind, it looks like some sort of evil eye, warding off who knows what. Kinda creepy, but photographically inspiring. It was kind of fun to stop and see the whole collection, but I don't think Regent is going to become the next Wall, SD.

I was surprised that at each stopping point, somebody else was already stopped or arrived before we left. This is pretty much in the middle of nowhere.

Enchanted Highway Addition: Geese in Flight

Gary Greff has just put up a new metal sculpture making five total on the Enchanted Highway. "Geese in Flight" will be added to the Tin Family, Teddy Roosevelt, Grasshopper and the Pheasants.

The Geese in Flight sculpture was so large it took 3 cranes to lift it up. It has become the beginning of the Enchanted Highway, located just off the Gladstone exit of I-94. It is so large, it can be seen for miles. It may even be in the Guiness Book of World Records as the largest metal art sculpture! Gary has also opened up a souvenir shop in the town of Regent, which is located at the end of the Enchanted Highway. I know this is all true, as I am his sister.
