Lahaina Banyan Courtyard

Once home to the old Lahaina fort, the park now houses Hawaii's largest Banyan Tree. It is over 60 feet tall and spans almost two acres! It is in the center of town, on the ocean next to the harbor. It is one giant, continuous tree.

[Gary Spino, 05/12/2023]

"Largest banyan tree in the entire United States." "Home to hundreds of loud Mynah Birds." It was imported from India in 1873 by order of Hawaii's Queen Keopuolani. Hard to capture in a single photograph; more a tree of the mind.
