Stewart's Petrified Wood

We stopped by Stewart's Petrified Wood, and the place is up for sale. The original billboards and signage are in good shape. Lots of petrified wood logs are laying everywhere. Obviously, you'd need a crane to lift them. They are not going away. I was able to drive up to the door. There still is the yard art to see. Dinosaur's eating body parts. A lone metal large ostrich on the hill oversees Stewart's passion.

Dinosaur.

Stewart's Petrified Wood

A fantastic stop! So much more than just the petrified wood! Dinosaurs built by Stewart himself, and the shop has soooo many cool things. Make sure to say hi to miss Gazell (Stewart's wife). She is such a nice lady, we could've talked to her forever.

Very run down. However, there are interesting gems inside.

Stewart's Petrified Wood

Mr. Stewart has now retired, being 81 years old. The ostrich has been sold. But the place is still a gem. Nooks and crannies and buckets and old wooden shelves full of artifacts, petrified wood, geodes, fossils, meteorites, sandstone, and other interesting stuff. Outside you can pick through piles of unpolished petrified wood for $2 a pound. The dinosaurs have seen better days, but still add to the uniqueness of the place. The employee has been there 23 years and is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our visit.
