Hainesport, New Jersey: Big Rusty the Troll
20 feet high, sprawled against an abandoned building trashed by vandals. Built in June 2023 by artist Thomas Dambo out of industrial metal junk found on the site.

- Accessible only from eastbound NJ-38. Not visible from the road. Driving east, just past milepost 14, turn right at the Law Office sign. Drive down the gravel road until it ends. Park, then follow the trail through the woods to the Troll.

With its cinder block toes and toothy grin, this laid back troll is a happy monster.

Just past Diamond Diner there is a driveway with a bi-level lawyers' office -- turn there. It's a little intimidating because there are no trespassing signs all over. If the gate is open, you can drive right through, and it's a short drive, which will open up to the abandoned buildings and Big Rusty. Better seen in afternoon as my pics were a little washed out in morning sun.
