It's interesting, charming, and unexpected. Although I think its always best to keep your expectations low (this is not a National Park, it's someone's yard) -- it's a cool place to explore and a great hike!
[Amanda, 06/09/2018]Rock City Park's prehistoric ocean floor is the world's largest exposure of quartz conglomerate (AKA ocean spar or puddingstone) -- gigantic boulders several stories high with huge crevices sometimes referred to as "streets." Natural rock formations are named "Three Sisters," "Balancing Rock" (a 1,000 ton boulder), and "Indian Face," among others.
The park features a museum, souvenir and rock shop, virtual video room, and fluorescent rock room. Self-guided maps are provided.
[Dale Berridge, 07/05/2008]This is an unusual park -- just a bunch of rock sculptures and passageways on top of a hill, but people seem to love it and come from all over to see it! They have interesting names for the rocks such as Hamburger Rock.
