This historical monument is WWII relocation camp, or Japanese internment camp. From 1942-1944, Japanese people, primarily from California, were taken to to this camp. There is a memorial there, as well as the remnants of buildings and structures. Unfortunately, it is not protected. It is located outside of Maricopa Arizona, near the Volkswagen Proving grounds. The road is dirt and easy to navigate, up until the hill upon which the memorial is built. It can be hiked or walked up, though. The view is very nice from the top.
