Supposedly in the early 1800s, near the time when the town of Linden was first established, there was a wooden bridge here where Lacy was murdered. The story varies: she was hung or thrown off, in some versions thrown off while pregnant. Supposedly if you throw a rose into the water from the current bridge you can hear her baby crying. Many people have reported seeing Lacy late at night walking the bridge or by the water's edge. The bridge is full of graffiti.
