If there was a museum, it's not there now -- unless you consider old photos of the area a museum. It's a quaint little diner, nice people, decent food, but other than that it's really nothing special.

Great place and yes, they do serve malteds! Bathrooms are coin operated outside across the parking lot and they will give you a quarter if you ask the cashier, making it a free pit stop.

Best old fashioned milkshakes ever! They will let your pet sit on the patio with you while you eat. Huge bonus when you are traveling. The vintage store next door is very cool.
[Rejwa, 01/27/2014]Right next door is a cute little vintage shop with all sorts of oddities. Don't forget to ask for 101 Cafe postcards as well. Restaurant itself is a great little greasy spoon with good prices.

We stopped at the 101 Cafe after visiting the giant windmill in Carlsbad. The food was great, classic diner food! And the decor was straight out of the '50s. They didn't have carhop service when we visited.
