The house sits a quarter-mile back off the road. The house is abandoned now and the gate on the lane is locked. There were, and are, cups on the house, barn, and shed, but a lot of them have been blown off or just fallen off. It doesn't look as though the house has been lived in for a while.
[Dwight, 06/18/2017]We are 100% confident we got ourselves to where this map indicates the cup house is and could find no school house covered in cups. :(
...but...
After talking to a local in Bismarck, her cousin thinks the house is still standing - just really hard to see from the road and hiding behind a tree, on someone's private property. We did not drive back to confirm this. So whether or not it's there and accessible to passers-by is uncertain.
[Kristin Lyon, 04/01/2015]My father's cup house has over 4,000 cups all over it. He's a bit "out there." This house is 5 mile's south of Ft. Rice, North Dakota and on highway 1806. Also, it's called the Christmas Light house because all year around he leaves on the xmas lights. He's not too friendly either. There's a casino about 20 mile's south, so the traffic's heavy. He still lives in the house -- three generations have. It was [originally] a school house.
