Smokestack Memorial
Attleboro, which once called itself the "Hub of the Jewelry World," has torn down most of the smokestacks that dotted the community. In what appears to be a case of having too much money and nothing to spend it on, the town built a miniature replica smokestack near the site of a now-missing original. The memorial includes an informative sign with a photo of the original smokestack.

The sign notes that "Attleboro continues to work to correct the harm caused by its industrial past." That work includes the park where the replica polluter smokestack now stands.
