Shoe Tree in a Cemetery

We spoke to someone that works there and they said the shoes are there for people who have died on the east side... [Gep, 08/27/2018]

Shoe Tree at Lake View Cemetery

Based on the Shoe Trees I've seen (not expectations from movies), this is an average to above-average Shoe Tree.

Shoe Tree

After an hour of driving through this beautiful cemetery, asking every person we could find about the tree, we finally asked the right person. He told us to follow him and he took us to the tree. It's next to a large dump. The tree has hundreds of shoes hanging from it, and they all look nasty. The little roads are a nightmare to negotiate; finding the tree without help is nearly impossible. We didn't think it was worth the time it took to find it.

Shoe Tree

Don't bother. I expected to see a tree with shoes hanging from the branches, like in the movie Sex Drive, but I was wrong. It's also VERY hard to find.

Shoe Tree

At Lake View Cemetery, known nationally for its horticultural and historical interest, there is a great shoe tree back near the "dump area." Mostly teen and younger shoes are on the tree. I asked about it in the office and only one person had a vague idea what I was talking about. However, it is a popular place to run, walk, exercise dogs, tc. and many people familiar with the cemetery know of it.
