Bouse, Arizona: Grave of Eight Ball

Eight Ball was a burro in a WWII Army camp who would drink beer from a helmet. An officer shot him after he was found eating the underwear of several nurses. The burro was buried on this spot.

Downtown, part of a small military park (look for the army tank). On the northbound side of AZ-72/Broadway Ave., one block south of its intersection with Main St. Eight Ball's monument is topped with a little metal burro.

According to the E Clampus Vitus monument plaque, Eight Ball the mule at Camp Bouse drank the beer of the soldiers and ate the nurses' underwear that was hung out to dry.
