World's Largest Hockey Stick and Puck

Located on Vancouver Island, Duncan is home to the World's Largest Hockey Stick and Puck. One of the locals told my wife and I that when the hockey stick arrived for mounting, it was too long. A call for help went out, and hundreds of locals showed up with tools in hand and brought their new landmark up to the needed specifications. If you're ever in the area this is a nice photo op.

World's Largest Hockey Stick and Puck

The world's largest hockey stick and puck are fastened to the east side of the Cowichan Community Centre. The stick was created for Expo 86 in Vancouver and somehow ended up in Duncan. The installation gave the town its moniker, "The Little Town that Pucked Up." Duncan actually likes to style itself as the "City of Totems," so after you've seen the giant hockey stick, you might want to visit Downtown Duncan for a walking tour to see all the totem poles and the many coffee shops.
