[Jen, 10/02/2014]Popeye Statue
The self-proclaimed "Spinach Capital of the World" has moved the 1987 creepy Popeye statue indoors into a gift shop on Fayetteville Avenue, just a short distance from the 2007 Popeye statue/fountain.
Located just north of Alma and I-40, off US-71, may just be the largest can of spinach on the planet, a huge water tower painted to look like a can of Popeye-brand spinach. You can see the huge can for miles.
[Dale Divers, 09/18/2010]Oct. 2014: Tipster Jen reports "The water tower that was painted as the world's largest can of spinach has been painted over. It is now just a water tower."
