Macomb was home of Lizzie Magie -- the originator of the game that would become modern-day Monopoly. The downtown square resembles the game board, with even the old jail at one corner, and statues of Lizzie and game pieces adorn the downtown. The game specific to Macomb can be played on the downtown square through an app.
