Tyrone, Pennsylvania: Circus Train Wreck Memorial
The Walter L. Main Circus train was unwisely sent down a steep, twisting track on May 30, 1893. The elephant car was the first to crash, wrenching the rest of the train down a 40-foot embankment. Six people died. Elephant casualties unknown. 1975 monument was upgraded in 2025.

- From Tyrone drive north on Old US-220/Pennsylvania Ave. for 3.5 miles. Turn left (no stoplight) onto Vanscoyoc Hollow Rd. Drive a quarter-mile. You'll see the monument on the left.
