Sod House Museum - World's Largest Plow

The plow was great. Just what you want in a massive plow. The best thing about the place was the great coffee/gift shop with homemade muffins, cake, jams and honey.

Sod House Museum - World's Largest Plow

Doesn't open until 9 am, and cost is free. The lady is really friendly and informative.

Sod House

Sod house, world's largest plow, bison made of barb wire. The shell station has changed to a Cen-ex station in front of the sod house. Also there is a life size Indian riding a horse made from barb wire staged to look as if pursuing the buffalo. Very good, great lady explaining history of area and sod house!

Sod House.

Sod House Museum

The sod house is a replica. Unlike that used in others, the timber supporting the roof is not 3/4" stuff from Home Depot. It is full 1" dimensional lumber, indicating that some care was devoted to procuring authentic construction materials. The floor is authentic dirt, too.
