Some of the South Dakota tri-state markers are on private land (or in the river), so this one is special. Be warned: The last road (102nd St SE) is just a two-track with tall grass in the middle, and it dead-ends at the marker. But I made the trek in a Chevy Cruze. It's a lovely stone marker showing where South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota meet. Chiseled into the four sides are: SD, ND, 1891, and "IN. MT. IN. PT. 9 C.E.," which means that the actual tri-state location is nine chains east of the marker.
