- East side I-275 downtown, but you'll get a better view if you exit the freeway and drive to 7th Ave. N., then drive west, past the trailer park, across the train tracks, until it dead-ends at I-275. (Inside a city maintenance yard, so access may be restricted.) Roof of last building on left, on the southwest corner of St. Peterburg City Vehicle Motor Pool.

Amy Gordon is correct - actually getting into the motor pool complex is quite a random try. Best view is that entrance to 295N, but you cant really pull off too effectively to photograph it well, so we just hopped the low curb next to the ramp to park in a dirt space that appeared to have had many people do the same thing in the past. The lizard is quite impressive, actually!

You can't see the lizard until you are on the ramp getting on 275 North.
