Town of Fighter Jets
The fighter jets are all on display at the Sawyer International Airport. The condition of some is somewhat deteriorated, but they are still interesting. Just being beneath the historic B-52 is quite memorable.
[John Holmes, 08/24/2011]Sawyer is a former Air Force base -- the base closed several years ago and now a community is using the leftover buildings. Several fighter jets are on permanent display throughout the community, mostly around Sawyer International Airport. Perfect picture opportunities as they are just parked on cement slabs.
Sawyer is working on acquiring more planes to add to their collection. Pretty much building a tourist attraction out of town history.
