Mounted on a concrete pedestal, a large version of the chained pen that used to be in every bank branch in America. It was a tribute to the CEO of the company that invented it, and has been displayed as an outdoor artwork since 2006.

There is a giant pen in the courtyard of the Bonita Springs art center. There are other large art installations in the courtyard as well. Very fun to see. Spend an afternoon looking at the art exhibit on the inside and then take a stroll in the courtyard to view the larger instillations.

The sculpture, here since 2006, is a monument to the "Stay-Put Pen," which used to be in every bank branch in America attached to a counter by a chain. The artwork was created in honor of Jerome H. Kuypers, CEO of the company that invented the pen in the 1950s.
