Lake Village, Arkansas: Lindbergh Engine Trouble Monument

In 1923, when Charles Lindbergh was still just an airmail pilot, his plane made an emergency landing on a golf course here. When the plane was repaired Lindbergh took it up for a night flight: his first. After he became famous in 1927, the town erected this monument.

About two miles north of town on AR-144/N. Lakeshore Drive, on the west side of the road. If you pass the tennis courts you've driven too far.
