Aunt Fanny's Cabin was a popular restaurant owned by a rich Georgian family, named after their cook, Fanny Williams. Born around 1868, Fanny became renowned for her prowess in the kitchen. According to the plaque "It is unknown how much she was compensated for use of her name and recipes," but Fanny was a prominent member of the Baptist Church and the African American community. The 2025 sculpture depicts her "groundbreaking" accomplishments as an early 20th century black Smyrna civic leader.
