Foamhenge
Cool little spot -- you can barely see it from the road though! The entrance has a white plank fence with a metal gate in the middle. Definitely worth a stop if you are traveling along I-81, but don't expect it to look like the pictures on the site. The comments about animals, vandals and paint coming off are true. Stop messing with this place, vandals!

I will second the tip about the mud. It's red clay mud and it is deep (granted, it did just rain for two days). Looks like Foamhenge has seen better days, with peeling paint and animals making holes in the "stones." Still a cool site and worth the trip! I will never make it to the real deal so I am glad we made the stop.

So freaking cool. Be prepared to get muddy, and it's red clay mud. Don't wear nice shoes. A little hike up a small hill. Along with Foamhenge, there are also a few witty tongue-in-cheek things. There's a sign threatening that if you damage Mark Cline's stuff, he might be hiding in the woods and come out and damage yours. And there are two statues that offer an explanation of the original Stonehenge. A Merlin-like figure is based on a fan of Mark Cline who passed away. A nice tribute to a dear friend.

Cool, quiet spot. Very isolated. Be careful of the drive in. Got stuck in mud.
[Joanna, 09/28/2012]Foamhenge - Picnic-Worthy
A great stop -- easy on, easy off. Having never been to the real thing, Foamhenge provides a feeling for the magnitude and scale of the original Stonehenge. My father and I were the only people there -- we had a picnic lunch right in the middle.
