The Holmes Medical Museum is in the small, first hospital in Baldwin County, which was in operation from 1936-1958 before another, larger, hospital was built. Over 100 babies were born there, including NFL Hall of Famer Kenny Stabler. When the hospital closed they locked the doors and didn't open them again for over 40 years. When they did, all of the old medical equipment was still there. A docent gives the general history and then there is a self-guided tour. The museum is free but donations are appreciated.
