Almost missed this cool, coonskin hat-wearing, Davy Crockett looking, woodsman. He's located on the side of the road adjacent to a home at the corner of Eagle Rock Road and Rolling Pines Lane, in Wendell, NC. The raccoon face on the front of his hat is faded, but the tail still looks pretty good.
[Mark Dolejs, 10/10/2021]Random statue of Daniel Boone. Almost missed it. Not entirely prominent. Not overall spectacular either. Kind of a neat random statue, just passing by, but would not make a special trip to see it (like my sister and I did).

There's nothing else here I've found. Perhaps a remnant of previous roadside attraction. We were especially fond of the raccoon face on the hat.

We've always enjoyed the carved raccoon face on the front of this particular Boone's coonskin cap.
