- Hokuloa Church. Drive to Punalu-u Black Sand Beach at the southern end of Hawaii Island. Across from the western parking lot entrance, look for a semi-paved track that goes up the hill overlooking the beach.

Great views of the beach. Take the paved path all the way to the top. Only takes 5 minutes from parking lot.

This small chapel above Punalu'u Beach is another "tiny church." It's built in memory of Henry Opukahaia who inspired the first missionaries to come to Hawaii. The construction material is lava rock and mortar.
