Alligator Bayou, Louisiana: Giant Alligator Snapping Turtle

A swamp haven made of wood and cloth floats juts into murky water and is connected to the shore by a rickety walking bridge.

Directions:
I-20 exit 171. Turn south onto US-65. Drive 7.5 miles. As you cross a small bridge you'll see the turtle on the left, in the water. Pull off onto the shoulder and walk to the turtle; a small walking bridge connects it to the shore.
