Germantown, Maryland: The Cider Barrel - Old Road Stand
An old road cider stand built in 1922 during Prohibition to resemble a barrel. No longer in use, it makes an odd neighbor to apartment towers built around it. Preservationists plan to reopen in 2020 and sell cider again.

The Cider Barrel once stood surrounded by trees; however, urban sprawl is now overtaking the area. It is now behind a chain-link fence and looks like it's in the middle of a construction site.
