To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Killarney's founding in 2020, a local artist built the Big Dipper, which is said to be the largest paddle in the world. It's 107 feet long with the blade of the paddle 17 feet wide. It weighs 22,000 pounds. A secondary attraction to the main attraction is that there's a time capsule inside the paddle.
