Longest-Serving WWII Submarine

This is a fantastic exhibit. I had a personal tour by an ex-submariner who had served aboard subs for 22 years. The submarine is still functional and is preserved in excellent shape.

The exhibit is maintained and sponsored by a group of ex-submariners, so it is not a money-making venture, but is a labor of love by those who love subs. There is a museum attached that gives a great history. For anyone remotely interested in submarines, this exhibit is top notch.

The only drawback is the hatches and ladders can be difficult to maneuver for an extremely overweight or physically challenged person. You need to be able to climb the ladder that goes in and out of the sub and you must be able to fit through the compartment doors.

USS Razorback SS-394 - Submarine

A vintage WWII sub is the main draw at the Maritime Museum in Little Rock, Arkansas. The USS Razorback, whose claim to fame is that it has served longer than any other sub, was acquired back from the Turkish navy (who've had it since 1970) for one dollar.
