Immediately past the sign welcoming you to Troy there is a driveway. As soon as you turn into the driveway, on the right stands the shoe tree.
There are numerous pairs of shoes in the tree and on the ground. This is great if you ever wanted to fling a pair of shoes in a tree without having to hoof it barefoot for the remainder of the day.
[Darren And Donna, 12/29/2014]The tree is not looking good. Most, if not all of the branches that hold the shoes have broken and are laying on the ground. Not sure if its storm damage but its the only tree nearby that is damaged. Looks like vandalism. Shoes are still there, though.
[Laura M., 07/06/2008]A shoe tree on the west side of town, on state route 66. Been there for many years, 10 + I would guess. It's on the river side of the road. just past the local ice cream drive-thru. The tree is thriving and the shoes are hard to see in the summer for all the foliage.
