Erick, Oklahoma: Sandhills Curiosity Shop

A shop where nothing is for sale and its greatest curiosities are its owners, Harley and Annabelle, "the Mediocre Musicmakers." Its exterior is covered in old road signs and a claim that Erick is "The Redneck Capitol of the World."

Redneck Capitol.

Sandhills Curiosity Shop

Super cool place. You can just leave a little donation and talk to the owner. You get to see the ghost town that is 66 now.

Allow time for a jam session, and the stories are definitely PG-13.

Stop and see Harley for a few laughs! Definitely a memorable experience; not for the uptight traveler though!

Sandhills Curiosity Shop is very much open. Had a conversation with Harley today.

Sand Hills Curiosity Shop

An unbelievably surreal experience! Harley and Annabelle (the "Mediocre Musicmakers") show you around their shop in the self-professed Redneck Capital of the World. You just sit and chat for a spell and then enjoy a personal concert. We were there for about two hours. A Route 66 must-see. Great fun! Erick is also the home of Sheb Wooley, the guy who wrote/sang "The Purple People Eater."
