In downtown Anniston, my brothers an I visited an Alabama veterans memorial park. The park includes some granite walls with the names of Alabamians killed in wars from WWI through the Gulf War. There are also a couple of walls with quotes about the wars, I think some are even from students. At the front of the park (facing the main highway through town) there is a reflecting pool in the shape of the state of Alabama.
