We visited the Frederik Meijer Gardens while in Grand Rapids and enjoyed it very much. Didn't have enough time to see everything but ran into this Giant Garden Trowel titled "Plantoir," in a field of wild grasses. It was created by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen.

The big trowel is in the same sculpture park as Leonardo da Vinci's Big Horse. It was stuck in the ground in 2001. Like the horse, it's 24 feet tall.
