A Muffler Man, painted as a Pittsburgh Steeler football player for years, was decapitated by a storm in 2009. Repainted as a Bunyan in 2021; the old head finally reattached on July 26, 2023.

Visited with my sister. Had to park (temporarily and quickly) at the pizza shop across the street. The Muffler Man looked fabulous -- fresh paint and complete. Although his hands/arms were empty.

This guy's headless days are almost over according to the workers at Lugnutz Tire Service. They have restored the Bunyan head and will soon repaint their football player back into the lumberjack he used to be. I stopped and got the scoop and some last pictures before the restoration starts -- hopefully some time this summer, they said.
