It's a rock. Painted.
We found the rock and painted it in broad daylight. Passing cars beeped at us while we painted it. I don't know why...?
[Karen F., 09/07/2008]I grew up in the area, and the painted rock is just one of those local things that everybody knows about... but I haven't found anybody who knows when it started. It's this gigantic rock on the side of a rural highway that people paint with different messages and pictures on a regular basis... painting occurs in the middle of the night (the thrill is better then) and the rock is always changing.
