The Half Scale White House is located set back from the street, behind Adventure City and within a hobby complex of smaller stores. It is now an event center for banquets and receptions, so I was not able to go inside. Nevertheless, this could be a great backdrop for special occasion photos, or perhaps with your favorite vintage car.

The building is beautiful, but I do not know if it really reproduces the White House as I arrived late and did not see inside. But I will return because it seems that it is a wonderful collection of dolls and toys.

Walked up to a sign that said the Doll Museum is now closed. As the tears started to form in my eyes a man opened the doors. I asked him if it were true and he told me that the doll museum was closing its doors for good and that they were planning to turn the space into a banquet hall. He also told me to come back on Saturday to see the museum one last time. I of course was there first thing and my beau and I had an amazing time walking through the museum taking tons of pictures and talking with the old ladies in the gift shop about its history. Everyone was way too nice and we left with our arms full and wallets empty. I love all my beautiful souvenirs and am so thankful for our visit but I am also very sad to see this unique place close its doors.. one less beauty in the world.
[Bee Harris, 11/03/2008]When we visited, the White House was full of people remodeling, and they said the doll museum was no longer there. They didn't know where it had gone. The Tree house was locked, half the hobby stores were vacant and the one selling model kits had no one in it but us. The little theme park for small children was open, but there was no one there. Maybe it's just because it's the off season, but it looked to me like it was in big trouble.
[John Varley, 10/09/2008]Hobby City is a street packed with a variety of hobby stores. One building that jumps out is a half-size version of the White House. It contains a 4,000+ item toy and doll museum and a large Barbie and Ken collection. The nearby "Bear Tree" is built to resemble a tree; inside are thousands of collectible bears. Other themed buildings, but these are the two most striking.
