The famous B-17 from World War II, "Memphis Belle," is now on display at the museum after many years of restoration work. The plane is positioned in the middle of a brand new display on the Strategic Bombing Campaign of WWII. The Memphis Belle completed 25 missions (a remarkable achievement given the high level of attrition of planes and men during the bombing missions). The plane and crew were brought back to the US for an extensive war bond tour. The plane was also the subject of two Hollywood movies.

There is a cafe almost hidden above the gift shop. Look for the stairs or elevator between the shop and museum marked with a small "cafe" sign. Food choices are limited but reasonably priced. No outside food is allowed. Picnic tables are available outside.
