I was just checking out an album with undecideds and think I may have found your camper. If so, it probably makes it a a 2,100 year old hollowed-out fir log from Washington state.

Unknown site. Would like info if you have ever seen or heard about where this roadside attraction could be found. We found photos in an old scrapbook kept in the family from a road trip in the early 1930's ('34-35?).
[Jan, 01/29/2005]Looks like this impressive vehicle is carved from an actual tree log (based on other old photos, drive-thru tree enthusiast Jarl de Boer thinks it might be a 2,100 year old hollowed-out fir log from Washington state). Determining location on a vintage Redwood Jalopy is difficult. Appears to be near some snow-capped mountains in other views, perhaps in northeastern California near the Sierra Nevada Mountains .

Stubbornly refusing to be stumped by the mystery logmobile photo, Jarl found a good match for Jan's unlabeled family album photo from the 1920s-30s. Appears to be the same wheels and front end, with a cab added later (?). Can't imagine logmobiles were rolling off an assembly line...
