The Thing? is a timeless tourist attraction along Interstate 10, and had been largely unchanged since we first saw it in 1985 until we returned in 2007. At that point a big electronic sign had been installed, hawking cheap coffee, and new souvenirs.
This video features a few of the exhibits along the path. In 2018 the "Mystery of the Desert" underwent a huge attraction modernization, and no longer looks anything like this.
