Video: Tour of Xanadu: 1985

When we took a tour of Xanadu, Home of the Future, we hardly knew we were peeking into a temporal dead-end. At the time in 1985, there were at least three Xanadu future-home tourist attractions around the US. Their vision of more efficient, moonbase-style structures, loaded with state-of-the-art gadgets, might have been silly even then, but certainly a worthy place to spend a vacation buck.
Today all of the Xanadus are gone, bulldozed to make way for something newer.
This footage is from our wander through the rooms with a VHS camera and recorder.
