A yard full of odd art, including a half-human half-giraffe thing and a weirdly modified Easter Island head. Sculpted by the property owner, Jerry Fryman.

Directions:: North of town on the west side of SR 301/Elyria Rd, just past the city limits sign. Private property, but you can walk the grounds if you knock first and ask permission.

Easter Island Head

I was in West Salem in April and the lot that had all of the sculptures in it is now empty. The only sculpture remaining is the Easter Island head in front of the house. All of the other sculptures are gone. I'm not sure when they were removed.

Tiki head.

A house in W. Salem has a yard full of wood carvings and interesting metal sculptures. There is a tiki head and a large razor blade in the front yard, and a human statue that resembles a giraffe in the back yard. I visited on a Saturday and no one was home for me to ask about the sculptures, but it seems that visitors are welcome to explore the yard since there are two open gates in the fence separating the house from the city hall parking lot next door.

I've driven through this town at least 20 times during the past ten years and this is the first time I've seen these sculptures.
