Snake Rock

You really need to use your imagination for this one. More impressive was the 1940s gas station about a half mile further down the road at The Farm at Carter Hill

Painted Rocks

Driving along highway 66 out of nowhere these two beautiful rocks appear -- a snake/lizard and an eagle. They are very eye-catching. They are a few miles apart along the highway on either side of Marlborough and there isn't a lot of room to stop, but they are definitely something to keep your eyes open for.

Disembodied Snake Head

On Route 66 in Marlborough, CT there is a large disembodied snake's head painted on an outcropping of rocks. In the summer of 2002 the rocks were painted to resemble a coiled snake, but apparently someone thought it was too threatening. The coiled snake body has been painted black. The head is still distinctly a snake, yet it also has two turtle feet. It is very similar to Eagle Rock in the town of Hebron, also on Route 66 several miles to the east.
