Apple Boy
Place looks like its for sale in early 2024, but the store and fudge shop were open and did not disappoint. 8 miles east of Alamogordo, the road covers a lot of elevation and was very scenic. Worth a detour from Alamogordo in my opinion. Plus the cherry cider is incredible.

Old Apple Barn is a super fun emporium of neat little novelties, gifts, kitchen gadgets, and you must try the apple crumb pie, delish!

Old Apple Barn is a great place to stop for a break, buy a lot of souvenirs and have a bite to eat. Tried the Elk Dog and it was delicious! The pies are incredible. There is a bakery that is upstairs and they lower their delectables with a dumbwaiter to the main floor.
Bill introduced himself and we spoke for at least 30 minutes as my son and I enjoyed our hot dogs. Bill is a very talented, interesting and intelligent person who is passionate about his business. If you love shopping, you will love this place! Great fudge and specialty sodas, too.
