Quirky Tourist Attractions in or near Massachusetts
While in Massachusetts, you might enjoy a visit to:
Bob Waterman has transformed his old farm property into a kind of Pee Wee's Playhouse bird sanctuary. The decor features lots of yard sale reject toys: stuffed animals and plastic Santa and snowmen.
Standing 24 feet tall, this is the world's tallest statue of a sports star. Rocky Marciano was a hometown hero and, in the 1950s, the heavyweight champ of boxing.
Retro-renovated in 2011, this was the first Dunkin Donuts shop, opened in 1950, when coffee cost ten cents. A plaque notes the location's importance in doughnut history. There is no drive thru.
