- Montgomery, Alabama - Hank Williams Grave
Hank is buried next to his wife Audrey, horizontal grave markers and twin vertical monuments. Hank's monument has his top ten hits, including, ironically, "I'll Never Get Out of this World Alive."
While visiting the site, a local resident approached and offered many stories. One night, a couple of drunks attempted to remove the horizontal grave marker by wrapping a chain around it and pulling it off with a pickup truck. The attempt failed, and now the grave marker's corners have been cut off so that a chain cannot get a grip.
The local also told me that the cowboy hat at the base of the monument is really one of Hank's hats covered in granite (sort of like bronzing baby shoes!). There used to be granite cowboy boots at the site also, but they were stolen years ago, as were two marble vases. These incidents led to the placing of a marble marker on the site that reads, "Please do not desecrate this sacred spot. Many thanks. Hank Williams, Jr."

- Robertsdale, Alabama - Derailed Diner
It's right off of I-10 on the westbound side. This roadside attraction was on our list of stops, but we axed it early on because of the bad food reviews I read. We found ourselves stopping here anyway because a Subway is in the same building. There was also some local fried chicken place, Chester's Chicken or something like that. The derailed diner is part of a larger truck shop, and has a very large shop inside with everything from clothes to shot glasses to dolls to saddle bar stools.

- Robertsdale, Alabama - Derailed Diner
The diner is a part of the Oasis truck stop. Nostalgia abounds. Every table in the train car has a glass top, with nostalgic items displayed under the glass. The walls are decorated with items from many generations. The food is good, but not great. Given the cool decor, it doesn't have to be. It's definitely worth a stop and a meal.

You should never let food reviews stop you from visiting an eatery that went to the trouble of simulating a trail wreck.
